Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift - 13 Weeks

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and equipment usage, and conducting physician-prescribed treatments on various ventilatory equipment. The role includes operating oxygen and aerosol devices, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring oximetry and capnography, conducting pulmonary function studies, and assisting with respiratory care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and intense respiratory treatments.
• Evaluate patient conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
• Conduct various respiratory procedures including nebulization and humidification.
• Perform suctioning and monitoring effectively.
• Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placements and other related procedures.
• Document all treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.
• Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tubes.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapy license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Strong understanding of respiratory care procedures and equipment.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule, specifically 3x12 hour shifts.
