Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) requiring a focus on patient care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. The role involves applying the nursing process to care for patients, teaching patients and significant others, documenting patient care in the medical record, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care.
Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency department.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans.
- Document all patient care activities comprehensively in the medical records.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Schedule
12-hour night shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years (REQUIRED)
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience (REQUIRED)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS (REQUIRED)
- Oregon RN license (must be willing to obtain if not active at the time of submission)
