Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Description

Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to the care of patients in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include teaching patients and significant others, documenting patient care in the medical record, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care.

Responsibilities

• Implement the nursing process for patient care.
• Educate patients and their significant others about health management.
• Document all patient care activities in the medical record.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Schedule

This position offers a 12-hour night shift, working a guaranteed 36 hours per week. On-call responsibilities will be determined by the facility and weekend scheduling will also be coordinated accordingly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years (required).
• At least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department (required).
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS (required).
• Oregon RN License (must be willing to obtain if not currently active).

Assignment Duration

This is a contract position lasting 13 weeks.
