Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Job Description

Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to the care of patients, teaches patients and significant others, documents patient care in the medical record, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the emergency department setting.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health and care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
• Collaborate with health care team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Schedule

This position requires varied 12-hour shifts, with a 36 hours guaranteed schedule. An on-call schedule will be determined by the facility, and weekend shifts will also be established by the facility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years.
• Two years of emergency department nursing experience is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS (not required to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain).
• Oregon Registered Nurse License (not required to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain).
