Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

8-hour night shifts from 11 PM to 7:30 AM with a rotation every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our busy core lab. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Hematology, specifically with Sysmex and Cellavision systems, as well as experience working in large hospital laboratories (600+ beds). Familiarity with complex sample management, including turbid specimens, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings, is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze hematological tests using Sysmex and Cellavision systems.
• Manage complex samples, ensuring accuracy and quality in differentials and abnormal findings.
• Work efficiently in a high-volume laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with other laboratory personnel to ensure optimal workflow and patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a laboratory specialty.
• ASCP certification required.
• Previous experience in a busy core lab environment is strongly preferred.
