Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit is responsible for providing optimal patient care utilizing advanced nursing knowledge and skills throughout the patient care process. This role includes comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex assessments and deliver moderately intensive therapies and interventions.
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses.
• Utilize skills in managing patients requiring vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, procedural sedation, and thrombolytics.
• Provide care for neuro stepdown patients and manage tracheostomy care.
• Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret ECG/Telemetry and pass competency exams as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Intermediate Care/Stepdown experience required; Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (APEX) are mandatory.
