Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Oncology unit will provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as their families or caregivers. This role requires knowledge and skills applied within the nursing process to ensure individualized patient outcomes throughout the care process.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing services to oncology patients, managing chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens.
• Utilize scientific knowledge to assess and respond to health problems.
• Coordinate care among healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
• Participate in the remote telemetry monitoring of patients when required.
• Manage care delivery in a mixture of oncology and medical surgical patient populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NV RN license required prior to start.
• 2+ years RN experience, with at least 1 year in Oncology.
• BLS certification required; ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred.
• Ability to float to different areas within competency level and pick up additional shifts as needed.
