Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The RN is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the entire episode of care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Telemetry unit.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and involve family members in care processes.
• Monitor patients and manage telemetry equipment, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Administer medications and manage non-titratable cardiac medication drips.
• Ensure patient safety and well-being through diligent monitoring and interventions.
• Float to Intensive Care Units and other areas as needed, based on competency levels.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Certification in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (APEX) is required.
• Experience with open-heart surgical patients preferred but not required.
