Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with night shifts (4x12 hours) from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Nurses will have the option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week, with four weekend shifts included in a six-week schedule.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) for a night position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of nursing experience and must be willing to float to different units as required. This role involves caring for adult patients, primarily post-surgical cases, including but not limited to bariatrics, orthopedics, and general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality medical care.
• Administer medications, including blood products, and monitor patient reactions.
• Perform various nursing procedures, including accessing/managing ports, IV starts, and wound care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective patient management and outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license (KS or Compact RN license) at the time of submission.
• BLS certification required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and managing various patient conditions.
