Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients during labor and delivery, ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby. The RN will act within the scope of practice and adhere to current policies and procedures, while working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit, including monitoring fetal heart tones and maternal vital signs.
• Assist in labor and delivery procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians and pediatricians.
• Educate patients and families regarding the labor and delivery process.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Iowa.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE.
