Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a critical care setting. This role focuses on comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients with varying degrees of acuity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions with a focus on critical care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage and interpret telemetry readings.
• Provide care in high-acuity situations, including post-surgical and post-cardiac catheterization patients.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions and care plans.
• Assist in the management of chest tubes and IV lines.
• Support patients dealing with respiratory failure, COPD, and stroke, among other critical diagnoses.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with ART lines, central lines, ventilators, and moderate sedation preferred.
• Must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes if on standby.
