Surgical Technologist - Total Joint, Orthospine, & DaVinci Robot Expertise

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week. Call is required (minimum of four call shifts per month).

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room, including the sterile field, and sets up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, the technologist passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and manages surgical equipment while simultaneously overseeing the sterile field and specimens. It is also the responsibility of the Surgical Technologist to perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and sterile field for surgery.
• Set up and manage surgical equipment and supplies.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during surgical procedures.
• Ensure the sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure.
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies accurately to prevent retention of foreign objects.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience.
• Prior travel experience highly preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program or equivalent is mandatory.
