Job Description

The Neurodiagnostic Technician will assist in complex neurodiagnostic procedures of the central and peripheral nervous system, aiding in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological diseases. This position involves the implementation of standards of care and following physician orders to ensure effective service utilization and improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform neurodiagnostic examinations under supervision and assist with technical aspects of neurodiagnostic testing.
• Conduct EEGs, Long Term Monitoring of Epilepsy, 24-hour EEGs, Evoked Potentials, NCS, and Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring.
• Ensure proper electrode application, preparation of technical history, and selection of test protocols.
• Maintain integrity of studies, adhering to industry standards and laboratory policies.
• Train in new neurodiagnostic studies and actively contribute to patient care within various medical settings.
• Schedule patients according to departmental policies and evaluate patient capabilities for testing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T) certification required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare providers required within 60 days of employment.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant department, with three years preferred in a hospital or neurology setting.
