Job Description

The Neurodiagnostic Technician assists in complex Neurodiagnostic procedures related to the central and peripheral nervous system, aiding in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological diseases. This role is essential for the effective utilization of services and the improvement of patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform Neurodiagnostic examinations under the supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Supervisor and Registered technologists.
• Function as a professional resource for Neurodiagnostic staff and physicians.
• Integrate electrodiagnostic needs with other care providers to achieve accurate results.
• Maintain current knowledge of technological advances and clinical areas.
• Administer patient care by demonstrating proper electrode application and patient preparation.
• Review Neurodiagnostic studies for quality assurance and compliance with standards and guidelines.
• Participate in educational sessions to contribute to the professional development of the staff.
• Conduct various Neurodiagnostic studies, including EEGs, NCS, and intraoperative monitoring.
• Schedule patients and evaluate their capability to tolerate examinations.
• Maintain a healing and aesthetic environment for patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) or a Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.) certification required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare providers required within 60 days of employment.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant department is required; three years is preferred.
