Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) settings. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients while maintaining aseptic techniques. This role requires working efficiently within a fast-paced surgical environment to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' skin for surgery according to hospital standards.
• Maintain sterile techniques and monitor the environment for breaches in aseptic protocol.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room suite and position them according to the type of surgery.
• Identify and care for biological specimens.
• Set up the operating room by arranging tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
• Assist physicians during surgical procedures by passing instruments and sutures.
• Efficiently scrub multiple specialty areas, including but not limited to Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, and Neurology.
• Ensure that physician preference cards are up to date and accurate.
• Cooperate with team members in planning and executing patient care.
• Maintaining safety, including adhering to traffic control and sanitation policies within the OR.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting, with strong preference for CVOR and Neurosurgery experience.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license required.
