Job Description

Under the general direction of a physician and the department supervisor, the Ultrasound Technologist specializes in performing complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures in two or more areas, including Cardiac, Vascular, or General ultrasound. This role is critical for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various disease processes, while adhering to industry standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for cardiac and vascular systems, as well as general examinations.
• Execute established protocols and care standards to ensure improved patient outcomes.
• Review images for accuracy, technique, and completeness in accordance with relevant governing bodies.
• Participate in the training of new staff members and sonography students.
• Maintain knowledge of advancements in ultrasound technology and apply skills to new modalities as introduced.
• Conduct examinations in multiple departments as needed and participate in accreditation processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active registry with either Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS or RVS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS, RVT, RDCS).
• CPR certification upon hire; AHA BLS required.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience preferred, including experience in OBGYN, small parts, cardiovascular, and pediatrics.
• Ability to float to various areas as needed within the organization’s competency level.
