Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is responsible for providing optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The RN will be accountable for individualized patient outcomes and will provide comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide moderate to intensive therapies and interventions for patients with complex medical conditions.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain high standards of quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required.
• Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• Experience with thrombolytics and trach management is beneficial.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Travelers must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam, which includes reading/interpreting rhythm strips.
