Job Description

The role of the Registered Nurse in the Oncology department involves providing optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The RN is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care and provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology patients.
• Administer various chemotherapies and immunotherapies as per established protocols.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Coordinate care among interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 2+ years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in Oncology.
• Recent experience in chemotherapy/oncology within the last 6 months is mandatory.
• NV RN license is required prior to start.
• BLS certification required; ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification is preferred.
