This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

8-hour shifts, primarily outpatient with some inpatient responsibilities.

Job Description

A Physical Therapist plans and executes rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function after an accident or surgery. They may also assist in managing or lessening the pain experienced by patients with degenerative conditions or terminal diseases.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and review medical history.
• Diagnose movement dysfunction through observation and patient interaction.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coach patients through therapeutic exercises.
• Utilize hands-on therapy techniques, such as massage, to ease pain and promote healing.
• Maintain detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
• Report progress to relevant parties, including family members and medical staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with patients and families of diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Experience: Relevant experience in long term care or hospital settings.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Physical Therapist state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
