Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for directing physical therapy services under the guidance of the Director of Physical Therapy. This role involves coordination and supervision of department operations, administration of prescribed physical agents, and maintenance of performance improvement activities. The Physical Therapist ensures compliance with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols while managing the department's budget and evaluating performance against budget guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the operations of the physical therapy department.
• Administer physical therapy modalities and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients across various age groups.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and patients regarding treatment plans.
• Maintain documentation that meets current standards and policies.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
• Train and mentor departmental staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of the therapy environment and equipment.
• Perform patient assessments and recommend changes in therapy as necessary.
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with other departments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Three (3) or more years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Current California licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitative medicine.
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
