Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

This position offers a 32-hour work week, with shifts scheduled for four 8-hour days from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

Job Description

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures to study the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart. The role involves engaging with patients, reviewing medical histories, and executing examinations while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Introduce self and identify patients using two forms of ID.
• Explain testing procedures and perform cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures using 2D and Doppler modalities.
• Conduct online calculations to quantify cardiac parameters of function and hemodynamics.
• Report abnormal findings to Cardiologists and take necessary steps to safeguard patients.
• Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
• Assist Cardiologists during transesophageal echocardiograms and prioritize patient requests effectively.
• Monitor report turnaround times and ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
• Perform 12 lead electrocardiograms and operate stress testing equipment as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program focusing on cardiac sonography.
• Credentialed by ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with 5 years of experience.
• Current certification in BLS.
• Strong computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Physical abilities to push equipment and lift weights as needed.
