CT Technologist

Job Description

CT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role requires maneuvering equipment and patients, which may pose physical challenges. Strict adherence to safety procedures is crucial due to the radiation emitted by CT scanners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness within the hospital environment.
• Respond immediately and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Ensure that all CT scan images are of optimum diagnostic quality.
• Operate CT scan equipment, selecting appropriate computer and technical factors.
• Assess patients and apply proper techniques for exposure.
• Coordinate daily schedules and consult with central scheduling for exams.
• Accurately document all procedures and patient data.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices.
• Monitor and enforce hand hygiene practices for patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT procedural experience preferred.
• MA DPH Radiology License required.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) preferred; ARRT (CT) required within two years of hire.

Schedule

This position offers flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, with first and second shift coverage as needed.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
