Job Description
Under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Director, the Staff Therapist is accountable for the administration of Physical Therapy to patients from pediatric to geriatric. The goal of therapy is to improve the patient's functional ability.
Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
- Administer manual exercises and instruct patients on therapeutic devices.
- Administer physical therapy treatments using various techniques and equipment.
- Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments and progress; recommend adjustments.
- Complete discharge planning and consult with other healthcare professionals.
- Design home exercise programs and instruct patients, families, and caregivers.
- Document patient care services in patient and department records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment; adhere to infection-control policies.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in societies.
- Develop physical therapy staff through training programs and information sharing.
- Comply with legal and professional standards; advise management on necessary actions.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Possession of a Physical Therapy License issued by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
- BLS certification required.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Understanding of human behavior, performance, and individual differences in abilities.
- Strong communication skills, including English language proficiency.
- Knowledge of curriculum design and training effects measurement.
