Registered Respiratory Therapist - Day Shift

Schedule

This position requires 36 hours of work per week, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This role involves the assessment and treatment of patients with respiratory disorders, developing care plans based on systematic information gathering, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Gather and evaluate patient information to develop appropriate care plans.
• Identify and respond to variations in patient conditions.
• Conduct patient education and assess learning needs.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and oxygen therapy.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as ABGs, Pulse Oximetry, and EKGs.
• Set up and assess mechanical ventilators, BIPAP, and CPAP units.
• Coordinate care among healthcare providers and document patient progress.
• Implement components of the VAP bundle consistently per protocol.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) by the National Board for Respiratory Care or eligible.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the State of Massachusetts.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Prior experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
• Basic computer skills are necessary for this position.
