Job Description

The Multimodality Technologist performs various Radiographic Imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a physician office, clinic, and/or hospital setting as requested by a Physician or other licensed Provider and under general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The technologist is responsible for effectively explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort, and providing necessary care while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.

Responsibilities

• Accurately order tests from outpatient orders; fax reports and scans, ensuring correct patient identity using two patient identifiers.
• Perform tests within standardized time frames; check images for technical quality before patient release.
• Communicate test/procedure details to patients and/or families, ensuring understanding to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.
• Assess work needs and prioritize tasks in the assigned work area while ensuring patient safety.
• Maintain knowledge and safe use of all imaging equipment, following standard precautions.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of departmental equipment; assist with equipment calibration.
• Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance departmental operations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current ARRT (R) certification required.
• Current IEMA Radiography certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiography, Mammography, CT scanning, and operative C-arm procedures preferred.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
