Job Description

The Infusion RN is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in the consulting and infusion department. This role requires the ability to determine priorities based on the physical and psychosocial needs of patients while ensuring the highest standards of nursing care are maintained with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and complete assessments of patients, coordinating interdisciplinary screenings and assessments.
• Provide patient care considering individual needs based on age, culture, and established care standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding the treatment plan and follow-up instructions as directed by practitioners.
• Manage and administer medications, including antineoplastic agents, following safety protocols.
• Document patient medical history and ongoing assessments, ensuring thoroughness and compliance with guidelines.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and adhere to safety procedures to create a secure environment for patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current IL RN License required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification through the Oncology Nurse Society is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse required; chemotherapy experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs.
