Registered Nurse - Medical Unit (Nights)

Schedule

Nights - 12-hour shifts; RNs are expected to work every other weekend and every other holiday.

Job Description

Join our dedicated team in a 25-bed medical unit, primarily serving stroke patients and a variety of post-operative cases. Nurses in this role will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care with an RN to patient ratio of 5-6:1 on nights.
• Deliver care for stroke patients who do not require TPA and comfort care or hospice patients.
• Manage post-operative patients, including those with amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Administer heparin drips and perform wound care as necessary.
• Support patients with altered mental status, CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment) protocols, acute kidney injury (AKI), dialysis needs, and COPD exacerbations.
• Occasional management of total care patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license and stroke certification are required.
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week.
