Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 36-hour night shift position, working from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with a requirement to work every 3rd weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, aiming to provide outstanding patient care and support throughout their treatment. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care based on established standards, procedures, and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patients, creating and evaluating plans of care to meet individual patient goals.
• Provide nursing care that respects patient dignity and promotes positive self-regard.
• Deliver thorough patient and family education based on learning needs and readiness to learn.
• Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems and resources.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others appropriately.
• Document accurate and timely patient data and therapeutic interventions as per standards.
• Monitor and ensure patient safety, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to reduce errors.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy following physician orders and protocols.
• Perform assessments of pain levels and effectiveness of pain control measures.
• Oversee and interpret cardiac rhythm and EKG changes accurately.
• Engage in daily multidisciplinary rounds to evaluate and coordinate patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of medical-surgical experience preferred, with previous telemetry experience required.
• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• ACLS certification upon hire or active BLS card with the requirement to obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire; CCRN preferred.
