Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with the health care team using evidence-based practice to ensure safe and optimal patient outcomes. This role promotes continuity of care by effectively communicating with the interdisciplinary team and families as appropriate. The RN will direct the work of support staff in providing care and perform general nursing duties utilizing critical thinking skills with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Promote patient safety and advocate for optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage care in an acute care setting and demonstrate sound nursing judgment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and families to ensure continuity of care.
- Oversee support staff in the provision of patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
- Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN.
- Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required; new employees must certify within three months after hire date.
- Current ACLS certification is required.
- Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness towards others.
- Basic computer knowledge and effective verbal communication skills.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
