Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Schedule

Shift: Nights, 1900-0730. Every other weekend and holidays required. Overtime available for those interested. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but accommodations for preferred schedules will be attempted.

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position providing care in a Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1. The position involves monitoring a diverse population of cardiac and respiratory patients, with fluctuating acuity levels. The unit fosters a supportive and collaborative culture, with management visible and accessible, particularly during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
• Provide patient education and instructions to patients and their families.
• Utilize clinical judgment to identify and report changes in patient conditions.
• Support a healthy workplace environment through professional communication and conflict management.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with Core Measure responsibilities.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain competency and enhance skills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.
