Cardiovascular Lab Technician

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. On-call 15 days per six-week schedule, including every third weekend.

Job Description

Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), the Cardiovascular Lab Technician will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. The technician ensures the procedure room is adequately prepared for each procedure and monitors the par level of all instruments and supplies. The position also involves participation in departmental staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and training of new staff. The technician will assist in all aspects of both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during cardiac procedures by scrubbing procedures and monitoring data.
• Prepare procedure rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are in place.
• Monitor and maintain par levels of instruments and supplies for accurate inventory management.
• Participate in departmental meetings and performance improvement activities.
• Train and mentor new staff members as needed.
• Assist in invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures in the lab.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid professional license (if applicable).
• Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.
• Experience in a cardiovascular lab or similar environment is an advantage.
