Registered Nurse - Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30), Monday - Friday. Weekend requirement every six weeks for approximately two hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in an outpatient oncology infusion center, focusing on both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusion procedures. Responsibilities include managing infusion therapies, patient education, and coordination of care with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusions to adult and geriatric oncology patients.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage oncologic emergencies.
• Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and social services.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, administration, and self-care.
• Ensure proper management and disposal of cytotoxic materials in accordance with safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
• Valid RN License required.
• BLS and Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required; OCN certification preferred.
• Epic charting experience is required.
