Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit

This position requires 3 × 12 hour shifts for a total of 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from 07:00 to 19:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) who will be part of the Float Pool. The RN will provide care to a patient population that includes Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and ICU, maintaining an expected patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2. The IMCU staff will float exclusively between the IMCU and step-down units, ensuring the ratio never exceeds 3:1.

Core Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
• Collaborate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to provide individualized patient care.
• Direct nursing support staff in delivering quality patient care in accordance with nursing standards and departmental policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years in a clinical specialty.
• Valid PA or MSL Compact Registered Nurse License required.
• Basic Life Support certification required; additional certifications based on specialty area may be necessary.
