Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position for a Night Shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department. The nurse will assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include managing acute psychiatric conditions, IV management, and emergency interventions.

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform IV starts, blood product administration, and procedural sedation
• Participate in daily shift huddles and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs and dysrhythmias
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
• Float between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health as needed

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS, PALS, MOAB
• TNCC preferred
• Active RN license (NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submittal)
