Medical Technologist - Blood Bank

Schedule

8-hour Night Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM with every 3rd weekend.

Job Description

The role requires a Medical Technologist specialized in Blood Bank to perform laboratory procedures in a clinical lab setting. The incumbent will be responsible for specimen testing and analysis within the medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood banking procedures including component preparation, crossmatching, and compatibility testing.
• Analyze specimens and maintain quality control of laboratory equipment.
• Document and report laboratory results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Blood Bank specialization.
• Certification from ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS is required.
• Experience in a clinical lab setting is preferred.
• Only Med Technologists and Med Lab Scientists will be considered; Med Lab Technicians are not eligible.

Holiday Expectations

The candidate must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).
