Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify patient/family teaching needs and goals related to diagnoses during assessments.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation, providing direct care by utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Ensure smooth communication regarding patient status changes among care providers to maintain continuity of care.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and assist with prioritization and organization of tasks.
• Promote a positive and safe work environment and contribute to unit functionality.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply and equipment needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following orientation.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of Two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
