MRI Technologist - Night Shift
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
This position involves a Night Shift of 10 hours, over a 4-day work week. Evening and overnight shifts are possible, including weekends.
Job Description
The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures and competently executes a variety of technical tasks that necessitate independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Practice and maintain MR safety within the department.
- Maintain clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
- Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
- Prior to examination, read and present all relevant information to the physician based on established protocols.
- Properly identify all patients using two identifiers and utilize universal protocols during procedures.
- Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition, including contrast administration.
- Document patient history electronically as required.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills while interacting with patients and co-workers, displaying respect and empathy.
- Work collaboratively within the department and across departments to facilitate efficient patient care.
- Clearly communicate instructions to patients, helping to alleviate fears and promote cooperation.
- Ensure accurate coding and tracking of exams, timely documentation in Rad Assessment, and correct networking for archiving and interpretation.
- Enter all charges accurately for exams performed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with an MR registry.
- MR registry must be obtained within 18 months post-hire, if primary registry is already acquired.
- Two years of experience is required.
- Licensure: ARRT Certificate or ARMRIT Certification or NMTC or ARDMS Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Compliance with Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
