Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Unit

Schedule

This position requires a rotating shift schedule: 3x12-hour Day shifts (07:00 - 19:30) and 3x12-hour Night shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Candidates should anticipate working 3 weeks of each shift over a 6-week schedule, depending on unit needs.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse patient population primarily dealing with respiratory and cardiac conditions. This is a 13-week contract position.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry setting.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.
• Document patient care and observations accurately in the charting system (Cerner).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania or Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for candidates with charge experience.
• Experience using Cerner charting system required.
• Floating to different units may be required based on staffing needs.
