CT Technologist - Day Shift

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with optional backup call from 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Job Description

The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, showcasing judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in applying ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes within a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
• Adjust protocols as necessary to optimize imaging results while ensuring patient safety.
• Administers PO, rectal, and IV contrast according to physician orders and departmental policies, assessing patients for potential risks.
• Operates complex imaging equipment for acquiring, analyzing, and documenting image data.
• Communicates effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and understanding their concerns to facilitate cooperation.
• Ensures proper patient identification using two identifiers and follows universal protocol during procedures.
• Documents patient history and exam details in electronic records and ensures accurate coding and tracking of examinations.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues to expedite patient care efficiently.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of hiring if not already acquired.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with state licensure requirements (e.g., PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73).
