Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes the delegation and direction of discipline-specific therapy services and ensures the design of functional treatment programs for effective patient rehabilitation. The therapist also serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers. Compliance with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values, including confidentiality and professional standards, is a critical component of this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and design appropriate treatment plans with specific goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical record documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
• Provide clinical care under valid physician orders and within insurance approval as necessary.
• Participate in student programs, offering mentorship and evaluation.
• Create and follow an individualized professional development plan, pursuing continuing education and professional activities.
• Adhere to state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
• Understand and engage with the organization’s performance improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active licensure in the state where the work will be performed.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is a plus.
