Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization. Patient and employee safety is paramount, and the RN focuses on various aspects of safety within the care environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in medical records.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize education for patients and families.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide anticipatory patient teaching.
- Communicate changes in patient status among care providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supervise and provide training to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Maintain a safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
- Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (for specific facility).
- Minimum of two years bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position requires a night shift with a 3x12 schedule.
