Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment, assessing patients' clinical, educational, and emotional needs. The nurse must exhibit strong leadership capabilities, prioritize and delegate effectively, and demonstrate the ability to handle life-threatening situations while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in the emergency department.
• Identify and intervene in life-threatening clinical situations.
• Utilize knowledge of nursing principles for patient assessments and interventions.
• Ensure safety for patients and self while managing critical care tasks.
• Function effectively in stressful situations, utilizing creative problem-solving skills.
• Assume responsibilities as a charge nurse when required.
• Utilize MEDITECH for patient documentation and management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Previous travel nursing experience is mandatory.
• MEDITECH experience is required.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Critical Care and charge experience preferred.
• IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification is required during orientation.
• Must successfully complete the lethal dysrhythmia exam and be defibrillation certified within six months of employment.
