ER Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) with no blocked scheduling. Travel RN is required to work 3 shifts per week, totaling 36 guaranteed hours, and every other weekend is required.

Job Description

The ER Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency care to critically ill patients. The role includes performing necessary clinical skills, managing various patient care scenarios, and collaborating with a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias)
• Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues
• Administer blood products and manage central lines
• Start and maintain IVs, including IV sedation and vasopressors
• Caring for stroke (CVA) and ventilated patients
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Follow isolation precautions and perform triage duties

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience
• At least 2 years of recent ER experience is required
• Active state nursing license (NY or compact); or have applied for a NY license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• No disciplinary issues on nursing license
