Surgical Technologist - Non Certified

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist - Non Certified assists surgical team members during operative procedures. This entry-level position involves arranging and inventorying sterile set-ups for surgery, passing items as needed to the operating team, preparing and moving patients, and cleaning the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suite, supplies, and equipment to meet safety and infection control standards.
• Ensure the integrity of sterile packaging and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures.
• Assist with preoperative care for patients, including patient preparation, transfers, and surgical procedures.
• Adhere to company and ASC safety requirements and procedures for a safe working environment.
• Participate in the time-out process and identify potentially unsafe conditions.
• Participate in quality and safety activities, providing back-up support to team members as necessary.
• Maintain inventory and assist with room turnover and cleanup.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: High school diploma or GED; Graduate of an approved course for OR Surgical Technologists.
• Experience: Minimum of one year related experience or training in a clinical setting and surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility.
• Licensure: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required; Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred.

Schedule

This position has a variable start and stop schedule, with no weekend or holiday shifts required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
