Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Night Shift)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15). Must be open to a minimum of 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. In this role, you will provide care to patients in a fast-paced environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess and triage patients based on urgency and severity of condition.
• Start IVs and manage IV therapy.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Document all patient care activities in electronic medical records.
• Float between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency care setting.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or a compact state.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, NIH Stroke, MOAB required; TNCC preferred.
• Strong skills in IV start, triage, and telemetry monitoring.
