Nights with the potential for an occasional day shift. Three, 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends.
Job Description
The House Supervisor provides leadership, coordination, and integration of healthcare services while supervising the safety and quality of care. This position takes on administrative responsibilities in the absence of regular leadership and serves as the incident commander during times of disaster and mass casualty incidents. The House Supervisor manages patient flow throughout the hospital, ensuring that patients and families receive optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care across the hospital and outpatient areas.
- Serve as a liaison for staff, patients, families, providers, and governing bodies.
- Facilitate emergency surgery communications with the operating room and procedural areas.
- Monitor nursing units for adequate staffing and alignment with productivity goals.
- Respond to concerns escalated by department staff or patients.
- Activate the medical staff chain of command when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Promote intra-departmental cooperation and team building.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered).
- Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Five (5) years of acute care nursing experience.
- Two (2) hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually.
- Six (6) hours stroke training annually; NIHSS counts for three (3) hours.
