Pediatric MRI Technologist

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 1 PM to 9:30 PM, with some flexibility required for holidays based on unit needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric MRI Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a plus. This role requires proficiency in operating the MRI machine while delivering compassionate care to pediatric patients aged neonate to 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
• Coordinate with physicians for timely diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety.
• Document all procedures while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Confirm compliance with all MRI safety policies and guidelines.
• Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate a variety of patient ages.
• Screen and prepare patients for scanning safely.
• Identify contraindications for safe scanning practices.
• Determine when a scan needs to be stopped due to motion and when sedation/anesthesia is required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of MRI Technologist experience.
• Experience with Siemens MRI scanners is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ARRT certification and NYS Rad Tech License (candidates must obtain NYS licensure prior to starting if not already held).
• Minimum of six months of pediatric experience.
• Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is highly preferred.
