CVICU Registered Nurse - Night Shift - 16 Weeks

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position, with potential for shorter assignments based on start date.

Schedule

3x12 Nights from 19:00 to 07:30, with potential for rotating 11a-11p shifts based on unit needs. Weekend shifts required every third weekend, with opportunities for additional coverage.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and related procedures. Nurses will manage the complex needs of post-operative cardiac patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac support, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care interventions.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients post-op from various cardiac procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, particularly inotropic agents and anticoagulants.
• Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interventions.
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, ECMO, and ventilator management.
• Ongoing assessment of patient clinical status and adjustment of care plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of CVICU experience required, first-time travelers with relevant experience are accepted.
• Active MD RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
