Registered Nurse - Med/Surg and Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

40-hour, day shift, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will perform essential nursing functions by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions and patient care plans. The nurse will respect each patient as an individual, ensuring care fosters dignity and self-regard, and will provide education to patients and families according to identified learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments, implement plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions.
• Foster patient dignity and self-regard through compassionate care.
• Provide patient and family education based on learning needs and readiness.
• Prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions, prioritizing patient care effectively.
• Document patient data and interventions accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy per established protocols.
• Utilize pain management techniques and devices for optimal patient care.
• Maintain and troubleshoot medical equipment related to patient care.
• Promote safety by recognizing potential risks and reporting incidents appropriately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current MA RN license.
• ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• 1 year of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience preferred.
