Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled. Availability for 3-4 call shifts within a 6-week schedule, with a response time of 30 minutes if on call.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery will provide comprehensive care to patients throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in basic fetal monitoring and possess a thorough understanding of AWHONN guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care during labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs.
• Administer medications and titrate drips, such as Oxytocin and Insulin, as directed.
• Assist with cesarean sections and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Perform assessments and document patient progress in the electronic medical record (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing with a focus on complications such as Gestational Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes, and Pre-Eclampsia.
